🔒 Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance

Tasks 'n Timers's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell your Google Tasks or Google Drive data, store it on our own servers, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising.

1. Overview

Tasks 'n Timers ("the app") is a focus timer and task planner for iOS, Android and the web. It works on its own, and can optionally connect to Google Tasks. This policy explains what data the app uses, where it is kept, and how you can delete it.

In short: we don't run servers that receive your data. Your tasks, timer settings and focus history stay on your device, and, if you connect Google Tasks, in your own Google account.

2. Data stored on your device

The app keeps the following in its local storage on your device:

  • Tasks and lists you create in the app, and the list of tasks you plan for today.
  • Your focus session history (when each session ran, how long, and the task it was for), task estimates, and the timer's current state.
  • Preferences such as theme, sounds and session length.
  • If you connect Google Tasks: a copy of your Google task lists and tasks, and a Google access token that expires after about an hour.

Task time estimates are calculated on your device. On iOS the app uses Apple's on-device language tools; your task titles are not sent anywhere for this. Timer reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device.

3. Google Tasks and Google Drive (optional)

Connecting Google Tasks is optional. If you connect it, the app asks Google for access to Google Tasks and to its own folder in your Google Drive, and uses them only to provide the app's features to you:

  • Google Tasks: to show your task lists and tasks in the app, and to create, complete, rename and delete tasks, and create lists, when you ask it to.
  • Google Drive app data: to save one backup file (your focus session history, task estimates and settings) in a hidden app-data folder in your Google Drive, so it is available on your other devices. The app cannot see any of your other Drive files.

Google's sign-in also asks to share your basic profile and email address and to associate you with your Google account (shown on Google's consent screen as "See your personal info", "See your primary Google Account email address" and "Associate you with your personal info on Google"). Google shares your basic profile (name and email address) with the app as part of signing in. The app does not use or store it.

The app talks to Google directly from your device over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.

4. Our website

Our website (tasks-n-timers.online) uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as pages viewed and the type of device and browser. Google Analytics uses cookies for this; see how Google uses data from sites that use its services. The iOS and Android apps do not send analytics.

5. Sharing

We don't sell or share your data. Data only goes to Google when you connect Google Tasks, and only to provide the features above.

6. Deleting your data

  • On your device: deleting the app removes everything it stored on your phone. On the web, clear this site's data in your browser settings.
  • Google connection: tap Disconnect in the app to remove its access token from your device. To revoke the app's access entirely, go to your Google Account's third-party connections.
  • Backup in Google Drive: in Google Drive on the web, open Settings → Manage apps, find Tasks 'n Timers, and choose Delete hidden app data.
  • Your Google Tasks belong to your Google account and stay there; manage them in Google Tasks.

7. Children's privacy

The app is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
